My husband enjoys Mezcal, but over time he has purchased some duds! These bottles just sat on the shelf collecting dust, until I had a delicious drink from one of our nights out. I remember ordering a few because they were so darn good.
Can't recall what they called it, but it was made with Grapefruit and Tequila. Well I have plenty of tequila at home, but none that I would mix with anything, let alone grapefruit juice.
I searched online for some drink with these two ingredients and low and behold came up with the Paloma.
They are refreshing on a hot day and my concoction compliment smoked meats, which we seem to have a never ending supply of!
Ingredients:
Juice of 3 limes
Juice of 2 Grapefruits (I use Pink)
3 oz. Mezcal (more if desired)
Pinch of Salt
Splash of Simple Syrup
A few 12 oz. bottles of Jarritos Grapefruit Soda (can be substituted with club soda)
Pour 1/3 of a glass with mixture and 2/3 with the Soda
Serve over ice with a section of grapefruit for garnish!
This drink is tart so you can play around with the simple syrup if sweet is what you desire.
